Getting Rid of Freckles

While some people find freckles lovable, especially for those with red hair, but not everyone is as excited about having freckles, either adults or children who hate to be teased about their freckles.

They appear early in life, increase in number during summer months and fade in winter.

Freckles, age spots, pregnancy mask  are formed in sun exposed areas: face, hands, chest and they  are nothing more than accumulation of skin pigment melanin which is always produced by the skin.

If you want to avoid skin discoloration, the first and the most important thing you need to do is to avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen  with UV factor 30+.

Check out your medications since some things you apply to your skin or take internally may cause skin sensitivity such as antibiotics, birth control pills and some topical products that cause sun sensitivity including alpha hydroxy acids and benzoyl peroxide.

Stay as far as you can from tanning beds because these devices expose your skin to lots of pigment-inducing UV radiation; one tanning bed session is equal to a whole day spent at the beach without sun protection.

There are a few remedies that can help you to get rid of freckles:

Lemon juice is a time proven freckle fighting remedy. It is not necessary to rub your skin with a piece of lemon. Applying the juice with your fingers will do the job.

Bleaching creams - Products containing hydroquinone and kojic acid can be purchased without a prescription. Higher concentrations of hydroquinone (over 2%) require a prescription. These products can lighten freckles if they are applied consistently over a period of months.

Laser treatment - Several lasers, especially ones that produce a green light, can lighten and eliminate freckles safely and effectively. Like cryosurgery, this is a simple and safe procedure with a high success rate and a low risk of scarring.

Natural parsley juice (or parsley infusion) mixed with equal amounts of lemon juice, orange juice, and red currant juice under your favorite cream will help you keep your freckles invisible.

Wash your face with sour milk. Lactic acid will provide gentle peeling effect without irritating or drying your skin.
