Kaki Bukit Industrial Estate on fire

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force a fire has broken out at Kaki Bukit Industrial Estate on 18th of November.

A call at 6.44pm was received by the SCDF for "a case of smoke showing" at 8 Kaki Bukit Avenue 1. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes using two water jets and there were no persons injured at the scene.

SCDF also said that the fire had involved contents of a switch room located on the ground level and that four fire engines were dispatched with three supporting appliances. Now the Singapore Civil Defence is currently investigating the cause of fire.

A witness said earlier that a fire had occured in the industrial area, opposite Housing and Development Board (HDB) residential blocks 639 and 640.

The witness posted a photo on a social website capturing the scene at about 7:25pm stating that an “industrial fire” has occurred at Kaki Bukit and that simultaneous explosions were heard from the scene. One hour later, the eyewitness posted another photo of the same location - huge plumes of thick black smoke could be seen.

From the image, it appears that Singapore Civil Defence Force fire fighters are already at the scene.
